Nanostructured Titania used as a pigment leads to surfaces that are self-cleaning and anti-microbial. Small portions of down-town Manilla (Philippines) have been painted with such paint, with a 30% improvement of air quality observed. Nanostructured Titania used as a waste water filtering agent has demonstrated very promising results in laboratory from efficiency point of view. Further development of a practical filtering system using an “egg-shell” concept under development in Eden would be beneficial for many regions in Australia and other parts of the world.
